The new, improved, and affordable SD model of the BCAM offers 33% improved thermal sensitivity, increased image storage capacity of 1,000 JPEG images with its removable SD/memory card, long 7-hour battery life, and weight of just 1.2 pounds.  FLIR’s patented Dew Point and Insulation Alarms specially designed to prevent moisture damage and detect insulation detects, and sharp, high quality imagery.  

BOSTON, Massachusetts (February 20, 2007) - Flir Systems, Inc., the global leader in infrared cameras, has introduced the BCAM™ SD, a new and enhanced model of its popular BCAM infrared camera used worldwide by building professionals to monitor and diagnose the conditions of buildings. Still affordable and easy-to-use, the BCAM SD stores up to 1,000 JPEG images with its removable SD/memory card, features FLIR’s patented Dew Point and Insulation Alarms specially designed to prevent moisture and detect insulation defects, and generates high quality thermal images.

With its removable SD/memory card, the 1.25 pound BCAM SD can house up to 1,000 images in standard radiometric JPEG format. These images can be inserted into email and MicroSoft® Word, Excel, and PowerPoint from the SD card and shared with others in the field on the camera’s bright 3.5” LCD display. A long-life battery ensures 7 hours of uninterrupted inspection, too.

The BCAM SD offers powerful alarm features specially designed to prevent moisture damage and find insulation defects. FLIR’s patented Dew Point Alarm displays areas with risk of surface condensation where mold growth could occur. With the Insulation Alarm, operators can easily detect areas that do not fulfill the insulation requirements.

In addition, the BCAM SD has a temperature measurement range between +14ºF to +212ºF (-10º C to 100ºC). The camera’s enhanced sensitivity of 33% significantly raises image quality and enables operators to see small temperature variations on the camera’s large LCD screen.

The BCAM SD also includes FLIR’s new ThermaCAM® QuickReport software which allows operators to analyze captured images and easily create PDF reports. QuickReport operates like Quickview, but contains better and more advanced features. The BCAM SD is also compatible with FLIR’s new feature-rich ThermaCAM Reporter 8 software.
