Cutting Edge High Speed Data Recorder (HSDR) with RTools Software Package for Scientific and R&D applications

10/11/2005

ThermoVision SC6000 and RTools HSDR enables new enhanced recording capabilities

Boston, MA (October 11, 2005) – FLIR Systems, Inc., the global leader in infrared cameras and technology is pleased to announce their industry leading, highly sophisticated science-grade HSDR coupled with a new version of their RTools software solution package. This system in conjunction with the new ThermoVision SC6000 is the most technically advanced solution for thermal imaging capture and storage for the scientific community.

FLIR’s HSDR is designed to collect, record, display, calibrate, and analyze images from the SC6000 utilizing the ThermaCAM RTools Radiometric Software Suite. This advanced HSDR allows high frame rate data recording at 100 megabytes per second with an extended time sequence recording for 1 hour at maximum frame rate. Plus no dropped frames at maximum rate and sequence length, therefore nothing is missed due to the ultra high-speed recording rate. The HSDR records the Parallel LVDS or Camera Link Base image data on removable hard drives for secure applications.

RTools Radiometric Software Suite is a highly developed software package for engineers and scientists to acquire, radiometrically calibrate, process, and analyze data from digital infrared camera systems. The RTools toolkit is comprised of RDac for camera acquisition, RCal for infrared camera calibration, REdit for file archival and maintenance, and RView for data review and analysis. The RTools Suite uses the Standard Archive Format (SAF), an industry standard created by Advanced Missile Signature Center at Arnold Air Force Base.

The ThermoVision SC6000 Scientific-Grade Infrared Camera offers simultaneous and independent analog and digital output data streams, enabling, for example, the capability to send corrected imagery to a video monitor while un-corrected data is sent to a digital recording system. The new camera also features extremely fast and user-adjustable frame rates with a camera output of 50 Megapixels per second, analog video during window operations, and advanced synchronization features.

With these state of the art tools in hand, FLIR’s scientific and R&D customers have a lot to be excited about. Scientists and engineers can now use advanced equipment to investigate complex and high-speed situations where IR camera technology is required.
