FLIR ANNOUNCES WORLD’S SMALLEST INFRARED CAMERA
6/10/2004
Tiny ThermoVision® A10 is ideal for machine vision and space-constrained applications
N. Billerica, MA (June 10, 2004) – With physical dimensions of only 1.35"W x 1.45"H x 1.90"D
and a weight of only 120 g (4.2 oz.), the A10 is the world’s smallest thermal camera. It enables
high-performance thermal imaging of targets where never before possible. The A10 is a unique solution
for imaging targets up to 400ºC with thermal resolution of less than 40 mK, where space, weight,
and/or power are constraints, such as in UAVs and machine vision applications.
The A10 features the latest uncooled microbolometer on-focal plane signal processing on a 160 x 128
focal plane vanadium oxide (VOx) array. Its performance is equal or better than that of larger, much
more expensive infrared systems, with the additional benefits of solid-state reliability, ultra-low
1.5W nominal power consumption, and fast time to image of less than 2 seconds. Its modular architecture
supports a wide range of lenses and accessories.
The A10 delivers analog RS-170A (CCIR), 14-bit digital, and FireWire™ (IEEE 1394) outputs. Its automatic
SmartScene™ feature continually optimizes image contrast across each frame. All camera functions can
be addressed through a serial interface (RS-232). Settings are stored in non-volatile memory. For more
information, call 1-800-464-6372 or go to www.flirthermography.com/A10data
FLIR Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: FLIR) designs, manufactures and markets infrared imaging systems worldwide.
Commercial product applications include non-destructive testing, research and development, manufacturing
process control, predictive maintenance/condition monitoring and broadcast imaging. With over 30 years
experience and more than 30,000 of its IR systems in use, FLIR is the global leader in infrared cameras,
software, service, training and support. FLIR’s ThermaCAM thermal imaging cameras have set the standard
for thermographic testing and analysis and are the most widely used IR non-contact temperature measurement
systems worldwide. FLIR products also play pivotal roles in such diverse applications as public safety,
defense, navigation and search and rescue.
